Fourth Season Clips

We all wept at the end of this season. Not because of the death of yet another character, but because of the departure not only of our beloved Sam Seaborn, but also the departure at the end of the season of the show's creator, executive producer and head writer, Aaron Sorkin. The Sorkinverse has never been the same. Of course this season's scripts finally started getting better around the mid-way point of the season but the light at the end of the tunnel may have been the 5:15.

Due to space limitations on my servers, I have split this season between two mirror servers.

I have included a link to the synopsis for each episode from the West Wing Continuity Guide. To read a most excellent recap of any episode visit Television Without Pity's West Wing Recaps & Extras page. You may need to change the option for how many episodes to display and how you want them sorted, but it will definitely be worth your while. Deborah, Glark, Shack and the other recappers do a great job bringing the episodes to the web, and more often than not they bring the funny, even when the show's writers and directors don't.

The Chief Justice of the Supreme Court startes writing his decisions in verse, but that's not the worst part of the week. The inauguration speech isn't going well, especially when Will takes great issue with the foreign policy section after genocide raises it's head in the Republic of Equatorial Kundu. Donna doesn't have it much easier when her Lt. Commander Stud follows a Presidential Order and gets reassigned to Italy.

POTUS watches Lauren & Hardy's Babes in Toyland and at the last minute POTUS decides Will is right about the foreign policy section of the inauguration speech and after Will gets the full 'White House call in the middle of the night' treatment everyone has to rush to change the speech. Will ends up with not only a job offer, but the job of Deputy Communications Director (Sam's old job before he just got promoted). Charlie vows to win Zoey back and Danny finds a twist in the Shareef matter but gets a quote from Donna's beau makes a comment that lands people in hot water.

16. The California 47th Synopsis
Recap
POTUS heads to California to support Sam in his election bid, but they have to decide whether to respond to the Republican tax plan since responding would doom Sam's chances of getting elected. Back in Washington Leo and Fitzwallace have to beal with a worsening situation in Kundu while Will finds the speechwriting staff gone and he's left with the support of The Laurens (and Cassie). Of course POTUS makes a comment about the French just loud enough to be heard over the microphones, Donna meets with a Communist, and Toby and Charlie have to hog the last scene of the episode as they get arrested for a bar fight.

POTUS goes back to deal with the Kundu situation (including 3 U.S. soldiers who were kidnapped) but leave Charlie and C.J. to assist FLOTUS as she flys out to honor his speaking commitments. Will works his interns to death, and Josh really puts his foot in it when a comment to FLOTUS about her nephew ends up with She-who-will-not-be-named getting hired as her CoS.
